Where possible, scrub in the direction of the grain.

Scrubbing too hard can damage the brushes by permanently bending the bristles.

Keep the bristles free of gunge while the gunge is still wet.

  • As the gunge builds up in the bristles, give the brush a sharp smack onto a piece of waste wood, the gunge should fall out.
  • If the gunge doesn’t fall out, place the brush into a container and cover the bristles with Stripper for the stripping brush and Flusher for the flushing brush. After 5 minutes give the bristles another hard smack, this time the gunge will fall out.
  • At the end of a stripping session, clean the brushes thoroughly while the gunge in the bristles is still damp
