Advantages of Stripping with Cooper’s

NO SANDING

Cooper’s is the logical method of restoring, one of the main features being that there is NO SANDING. This is achieved by the fact that underneath most finishes there already exists a sanded surface. Cooper’s have created a SYSTEM to remove the old finishes without damaging the original sanded surface, thereby foregoing the need to re SAND.

Generally paint strippers can remove just what is on top of the wood and not the residue within the grain. Cooper’s removes the residue in the grain leaving the wood clean and the original sanded surface intact.

NO BLEACHING – NO FURRING

There are no harsh chemicals in the Cooper’s Stripping System to attack the wood so it is not bleached, nor is there any grain raising. The original sanded surface feels as smooth as it once did and is ready for finishing right away.

NO DUST

Stripping with Cooper’s is like reversing the paint drying process. As the paint collapses it turns semi liquid and can be wiped away. There is absolutely no dust and much less mess, a very important factor when removing lead based paints.

Finishing with Cooper’s

Today we appreciate our wood like never before. The ideal finish should let us enjoy the wood’s natural beauty and protect it from deterioration. With all the finishes available today, what will achieve this ideal finish? Moisturising is the answer.

Typically we apply skin-forming coatings like polyurethane, waxes and oils. Even though these finishes give us the wood look, they do not realise the wood’s true potential.

Coatings mask the true colours and continue to deteriorate over time. You also lose the ability to actually feel the real wood.

We have taken a very different approach to timber finishing. Why use a coating if it’s going to fail? We have perfected a moisturiser that provides a type of living finish – like skin care for wood. It is easily applied and absorbs deep into the fibre, allowing for the wood’s natural flexibility and movement.

The protection is now coming from within. It works with the wood’s natural physical properties to provide lasting durability. The moisturiser is UV stable and suitable for anywhere inside the home including doors, mouldings, panelling, windows and floors.

Moisturiser brings out the wood’s true rich natural colour and lets you enjoy the smooth silky feel. It’s nice to know you are actually touching the real wood.

Cooper’s Moisturiser has been used in thousands of homes.

The key benefits are:

  • Timber looks natural as if no coating is on the wood
  • You can feel the wood grain
  • The wood’s natural colours look rich and inviting
  • UV stable
  • Suited to almost every timber and ply board
  • Easy to apply, brush, spray or roll
  • Simple maintenance means the finish lasts forever
  • Non toxic, no smell
